Fantastic opportunities to earn whilst you learn and develop your career in Site or Technical management through our structured FIRST Management Training Scheme, putting you firmly on the first rung of the management ladder. From 2011 we are also offering the opportunity for First Sales Trainees.

We’re passionate about developing talent from within our business and as a trainee the scheme paves the way for you to really contribute to our future success.

Each September we’re offering fantastic opportunities in three specific business areas, working alongside experienced teams within the Persimmon Technical and Sales departments or on Site.

FIRST Trainee Site Managers:
Day-to-day site duties will include ordering materials, organising and planning the build programme, liaising with contractors and understanding good health and safety practice.

FIRST Trainee Technical Managers:
Day-to-day office duties will include technical administration, liaising with sub-contractors, quantity surveyors or buyers and the application of our COINS management information system.

FIRST Sales Trainees:
Day-to-day office duties will include sales administration, liaising with external agencies, attending Sales and Marketing Meetings and attending in-house Sales Advisors training days.

About the Scheme:
  • 4 year programme working alongside an experienced Site Manager, technical or sales professional.
  • Regular on-site or office training gradually taking on more responsibility and working towards the role of Assistant Site Manager, your first full Technical role or as a Sales Advisor.
  • 1 day a week at College studying for a BTEC National Certificate, and later a BTEC HNC or HND (sales and technical) or a NVQ Level 2 progressing to Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care (sales).
  • A personal mentor for ongoing support through all your training.
  • Regular reviews and on-the-job assessments.
What do you need:
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A-C or equivalent, (including English Language and Mathematics).
  • Genuine interest and commitment in this exciting, dynamic industry.
